Helga Haiman (2001) is a London-based film director and writer. Educated at the University of Warwick (BA Film and Literature) and the Accademia di Belle Arti (MA Photography), she thus marries literary narrative structure with a refined visual aesthetic. She wrote and directed the Swiff Award-winning short It's only seasonal, don't worry (2023) and Corn Harvest (2024), screened in London and Budapest.

Her directorial approach is deeply informed by multidisciplinary experience across camera, art, and production departments on critically acclaimed projects. She served as Unit Production Manager on Gábor Reisz’s Venice Biennale Orizzonti Award-winning feature Explanation for Everything (2023). Further technical credits include the art department on the award-winning feature Lesson Learned and directing, shooting, and editing the behind-the-scenes documentary for the Cannes-selected short Pickled (2026).

In parallel to her film career, Haiman is an exhibiting documentary photographer whose work explores themes of loneliness, self-discovery, and global conflicts. She held two independent exhibitions, including a prominent showcase in Berlin’s prestigious Charlottenburg district.
